Greetings and a belated Happy 2002 from Oysterhead. We've posted a new video called 'Whamola Jam' for you to watch, plus added a section of photos from the Fall 2001 Tour. Check out some of Stewart's audio 'lobotomies', as he calls them - jams that have been edited and refashioned in true Copelandian style. Oysterhead has no plans to tour or record in the immediate future.

"The Grand Pecking Order" is now available in the following countries: Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Canada, Japan, Australia and Mexico. If you live in a different country and want to buy the CD, consider moving. OR, you could always order the CD or LP online from one of the following sites: Phish Dry Goods [www.phish.com/drygoods] or Club Bastardo [www.clubbastardo.com]. In addition to the CD or LP, you can also order tour merchandise from Oysterhead's Fall 2001 Tour and a brand new guitar tablature folio of "The Grand Pecking Order" from either site. Though the edition is a guitar folio, many of Les' bass riffs are also transcribed.

OYSTERHEAD will be performing on Late Night with Conan O'Brien tomorrow, November 15, at 12:35 AM ET on NBC. Check local listings for exact times.

Selections from Oysterhead's October 27 show at the Hollywood Palladium will debut on HBO's Reverb on Wednesday, November 21 at 8 pm ET/PT. The hour-long show will feature thirty minutes of live Oysterhead and interviews with the band. The show repeats throughout the week on HBO and HBO Plus. Tour Update: Though most of the tourdates are sold out, a very small number of tickets still remain for shows in Toronto, Cleveland and Utica. Limited tickets remain for the last show of the tour in Gainesville, Florida. It's a great time to visit the Sunshine State!

The Oysterhead shows at the Roseland Ballroom on November 13 and 14 will benefit two different New York-based organizations. All net proceeds from both shows will benefit the New York Police and Fire Widows' & Children's Benefit Fund (www.nypfwc.org/index.cfm) and the New York State Coalition Against Sexual Assault (www.nyscasa.org/news.html).

At long last, "The Grand Pecking Order", the debut album from Oysterhead, appears in stores in the United States and Canada Tuesday, October 2. Please note that the album will be released domestically in Japan on October 24. It will not be available on European shores until January of 2002. However, if you have the itch, and you should, you can always order it directly from us by clicking here. The first 'single' off the album is Mr. Oysterhead -- if you'd like, please call stations in your area and request them to play it.

Les and Stewart joined Trey at The Barn up in Vermont early in September to rehearse for their shows at Toad's Place in New Haven, CT and NYC's Irving Plaza. Due to the tragedies in New York City on September 11, the band cancelled those two concerts. They gathered with friends and family on the night of September 15, and played some of the music they'd been rehearsing to the small crowd. Stewart's son Jordan was there to capture some of the performance on video. Click on "VIDEO" in the menu above to check out Quicktime clips of "Army's on Ecstasy" and "Shadow of a Man," as well as a montage of the band recording the album and footage from their show in New Orleans in May of 2000.

We're happy to announce opening acts for every date on the Oysterhead Fall tour. They're likely to begin their sets right at showtime, so please come early to check them out! They include: North Mississippi Allstars, Drums and Tuba, The Cancer Conspiracy, Lake Trout, Mark Ribot y Los Cubanos Postizos, and New Orleans Klezmer Allstars. Click on "more info" in the Tour section for show-specific information.

Tickets for all shows have all gone on sale. As of this writing, limited tickets are still available in Vancouver, Salem, Berkeley, West Lafayette, Ann Arbor, Cleveland, Toronto, Utica and Gainesville.

$1 of every ticket for both shows at Roseland Ballroom in New York City will be donated to the New York Police & Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund.

Welcome to the official Oysterhead web site - lots of exciting news to report. The new album, The Grand Pecking Order, hits stores on October 2 in the U.S. and Canada. Foreign release dates are still being finalized - stay tuned. The first single is the eponymous track Mr. Oysterhead, at radio stations starting September 5.

After a warm-up show at Toad's Place in New Haven on Sept. 14, Oysterhead will make a special appearance at the CMJ (College Music Journal to the layfolk) Music Marathon on Sept. 15, headlining a three band bill at Irving Plaza that also includes Lake Trout and The Cancer Conspiracy. The CMJ show will be recorded by HBO for inclusion on their concert show Reverb - the Oysterhead segment should air in early October. Please note: tickets for both the Toad's Place and Irving Plaza shows are SOLD OUT.

Oysterhead will hit the road in earnest starting Oct. 21 in Seattle. The tour includes stops at Les' favorite venue, the Greek Theatre in Berkeley CA, as well as a two night Halloween stint at the Fillmore in Denver and manages to cover much of the country (and a couple Canadian dates as well) in twenty shows. Opening acts have yet to be finalized.

Tickets for the Oct/Nov national tour were available directly through Oysterhead.com's secure on-line ticketing system from August 23 - 29. Each show's requests will be placed in a separate lottery - if requests exceed available tickets, the lottery for that show will determine who gets tickets. If requests don't exceed availability for a particular show, all correct orders will be filled. All requests made during the order period will be treated equally. You will be notified as to the status of your order(s) by email before any shows go on sale through normal channels.

This site is an evolving work in progress - check back for more info in the coming weeks.
